Thinking It Over :
Completed project

Thinking It Over is a 2-part, 30-minute educational film on the subject of teenage pregnancy.

Gemma is told by a family planning nurse that she is pregnant. Over the following 24 hours, both she and her boyfriend must come to terms with their situation and make a decision that will affect them for the rest of their lives. Through conversations with friends parents and a series of documentary interview inserts, Thinking It Over explores many of the psychological, ethical, social and physical implications f teenage pregnancy and raises issues of contraception, keeping and raising a child, adoption and abortion.

Taking a pro-choice stance and giving both male and female characters equal screen-time, Thinking It Over is an emotive and informative look at just one of the many struggles that are a part of growing up. Particular praise should go to Liz Spotswood and Kyle Vine for their daring, raw and professionally controlled performances as the teenage couple who have to deal with the traumatic discovery.

The film is the first in a planned series of educational films to be produced by Sort Of...Films on topics as diverse as smoking, obesity and bullying. If you have an interest in any of these subjects or would like to suggest a potential educational film, please do get in touch.
