Ed Cartledge
Head of Production | Managing Director

Ed Cartledge is a graduate of the University of Sheffield film programme from which he received a first for his BA and a distinction for his MA. He has been working profesionally as a filmmaker since 2003 and specializes as a producer/director of documentaries. He is also a skilled camera operator, editor, assistant director and writer.

Ed has taught film studies for the University of Sheffield and the Showroom Cinema and was the co-founder of The South Yorkshire Filmmaker’s Network.

Leon Lockley
Cameraman | Editor

Leon is the in-house lighting cameraman and editor for Sort Of...Films. He is proficient in shooting DV, HDV, DVCAM, DigiBeta, 16mm and 35mm film. He established himself as a professional camera operator and editor at the age of twenty one, after five years of training within the film and media industry. Over the past decade his projects have included various documentaries, many short films and promotional work. Credits include Panorama, the feature films Dead Man's Shoes and Jelly Dolly as well as working for clients such as The Kings Foundation, The Health and Safety Executive, Mencap, Thorntons Solicitors and Walkers Crisps.

Beth Goddard
Youth Engagement Project Worker

Beth has worked extensively with young people in a wide variety of sectors including youth service, secondary schools, colleges, universities, independent learning environments such as community groups, summer schools and youth festivals. Projects have included programming creative workshops under the Aim Higher initiative for secondary school students in Doncaster, producing a devised piece of theatre with young dads as part of The Father's Voice Project with Kirklees Young People's service, heading up the Youth Theatre and Outreach department of the Lawrence Batley Theatre and project managing the producing of a film with a group of 70 FE college students. She has a passion for the empowerment and development of young people and all of the projects she has programmed or delivered have been young person focused in both their planning and delivery.

Sally Fletcher
Assistant Producer and Researcher

Sally has recently come on board in a casual/flexible capacity in order to help develop and research a number of different projects. Sally is a postgraduate student at the University of Sheffield currently studying for an MA in Eighteenth-Century Historical Research. She is a recent addition to the company, and is assisting primarily with research based activities. Sally is interested in all types of films, especially historical and documentary, and hopes her experience in communicating research and history, as well as her work at Sort Of…Films, will assist her in gaining future work in television and film production.

Sam Wheatley
Assistant Editor and Production Assistant

Sam is currently studying for his degree in Film and Media Production.  He has spent the last 3 years working on a variety of projects from films to short documentaries which has seen him in a number of roles from runner to director and producer. Sam has taken on a casual/flexible role within the company to assist mainly with post-production and project development.
